Nambu Mechanics in Atmospheric Dynamics

Abstract

Nambu mechanics is a generalization of Hamiltonian mechanics allowing the use of other conserved quantities in the same way as the Hamiltonian. In the article, we will introduce its formalism and show the specific form of the equations for a flywheel, two-dimensional incompressible flow and for the shallow water model.

In the end, we will mention what the formalism is used for.
