Prague - Berlin: Early Avant-Garde Collaboration despite (thanks to) Misconception and Manipulation

Abstract

Examining reproductions from avant-garde magazines, photographic glimpses into avant-garde exhibition installations, and descriptions of art works that made them something they were not at the time, this conference lecture examined the transnational reception and collaboration of avant-garde movements that was paradoxically the result of a misunderstanding, miscommunication, or deception.
