Abstract

This is the first paper in Czech introducing a peculiar genre of early modern medical literature - study manuals. As the title suggests, study manuals were aimed at students of medicine who were searching for a comprehensive overview of their curriculum.

The paper is based on Prague study manual by Jan František Löw of Erlsfeld, published in 1693. It also provides a comparison with the earliest example of this genre written in 1720 in Vienna by professor Martin Stainpeis.
