Publication at Faculty of Arts |

Abstract

The article comments on the events surrounding the Hungarian national holiday, when the traditional celebratory fireworks display was called off by the Hungarian government due to the weather forecast. However, when the predicted storm did not take place, the government dismissed the leaders of the meteorological institute.

The story contextualizes contemporary Hungarian politics with a story from European antiquity.
