Abstract
This historical study examines the circumstances of the founding and the first 25 years of FAMU's operation, emphasizing topics such as the influence of the VGIK school in Moscow on the development of FAMU's curriculum and the question of artistic freedom of student films. The output is dedicated to the Academy of performing Arts in Prague.
