Abstract
This is a set of dilators for expanding openings into body cavities and into some organs. It is mainly used for people with infectious and necrotic deposits in the abdominal cavity, retroperitoneum, chest cavity, but also for dilation of entrances to hollow organs (trachea, stomach, uterus, urinary system).
It can also be used during laparoscopic procedures. The use of the mentioned device will enable a safer expansion of openings and entrances for the effective introduction of drains, the performance of endoscopic procedures and instrumental procedures in body cavities and necrotic deposits.
The aim of the set of dilators is to enable the dilation of narrow channels that arise after the introduction of thin drains using a puncture needle into the bearing. The insertion takes place under ultrasound or X-ray control.
The presented device is intended for subsequent expansion of the channel through which a thin drain is introduced. A set of dilators is used for dilation, and the method of dilation is exceptional in that a stronger dilator is inserted into a weaker dilator.
In this way, it is possible to gradually and gently dilate the canal without damaging the surrounding tissues. The depth of the introduced dilator is determined by a fixation device (spacer ring), with the help of which it is possible to safely set the length of the dilated channel.
