Abstract
The collective professional monograph is dedicated to the symbiosis of criminal law and criminology. In it, the authors from the ranks of academic workers paid attention to the circles in which this symbiotic relationship can be demonstrated.
Specifically, it concerns the principle of subsidiarity of criminal repression, (de)criminalization and (de)penalization tendencies, the punishment system, the imposition of punishments on adult offenders, the imposition of punishments on legal entities, the imposition of criminal measures on juveniles, protective measures, the procedural context of the enforcement of sanctions (enforcement proceedings) and work with criminals in the 21st century. All these circuits are examined from both the Czech and the Slovak point of view.
We presented some of the conclusions contained in this monograph and subjected them to a critical discussion at a professional scientific conference on the occasion of commemorating the legacy of prof. Oto Novotný.
The book is also the result of real symbiosis, cooperation and efforts of all criminal law departments of law faculties and police academies in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
