Abstract
The book presents all university departments in the Czech Republic offering study programs involving the French language (Prague, Brno, Hradec Králové, Plzeň, Olomouc, Ostrava, České Budějovice). The presented study programs include philology, translation studies, didactics of French, but also specialized fields focused on economics or public administration, including so-called double degrees.
In addition to the study programs, the handbook also offers more detailed information about the department - its brief history, the scientific domains of the teachers, international cooperation, etc. Thus, high school students who are interested in studying French have all the necessary information at their disposal, and the publication can contribute not only to promotion of the study programs, but also of French in general.
The book was published by the association of university teachers of French, Gallica, with the financial contribution of the French Institute in Prague, and the electronic version is available on the association's website (www.gallica.cz).
