Abstract
The study describes the development of research in the field of prosaic folkloristics in the Czech lands with an emphasis on the period after 2000, when there was an increase in research activities. This was manifested mainly in the research of contemporary legends and rumours, research in the field of collective memory, cataloging of contemporary legends and folktales.
There was also a sharp increase in publishing and editing activities and the renewal of international academic contacts.
