Abstract

The monograph deals with basic complications in oncology patients in active treatment or after its completion. It includes specific problems with which the doctor of first contact (general practitioner, ambulatory specialist) may be confronted.

The individual chapters provide basic information on the manifestations and differential diagnosis of specific complications, there are basic procedures for pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention are presented. The team of authors led by prof.

Vokurka worked on a wide range of topics, from skin toxicity to oncological wounds, oral cavity involvement, nausea and vomiting, fevers during infection or malignancy, nutrition and malnutrition, diarrhea and constipation, pain, fatigue, bleeding, ascites, stoma, sexuality issues, up to the physical activities, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and palliative and home care. The publication is primarily intended for the daily practice of general practitioners and outpatient specialists, but it is also useful for nursing practice and home care.
