Abstract
In his lecture addressed to foreign bohemians and Slavists, participants of the Summer School of Slavic (Bohemian) Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the MU in Brno, the author defined film announcements (quotes) as one of the key parts of Czech realities and as an integral part of Czech paremias. At the same time, he included them in the system of Czech phraseology and idiomatics.
Using concrete examples, he showed their functioning in the everyday communication of Czech native speakers and with their help he also tried to point out the specifics of Czech humor.
