Abstract
The paper is focused on the issue of the dichotomy of "natural" vs. "cultural", which is in a sense reflected in the ongoing CPU exhibition entitled Prey Spray Scene Mean. The paper will attempt to demonstrate the conventionality, schematicity and constructedness of this dichotomy by analysing the concept of the "utopian impulse", which represents an archetypal compound of the two entities (natural and cultural).
The utopian inclination - in the sense of a natural desire for a better place or state of being, for self-transcendence and transcendence of the present moment - will be presented here as one of the founding aspects of human nature, and at the same time as something that problematizes the aforementioned categories of "natural" and "cultural".
