Abstract

An extensive introduction to the critical edition of Karel Havlíček's correspondence from 1848. Study of foreign events on conditions in the Austrian monarchy, especially Czech society.

She focused mainly on the issue of Czech-German relations, on the demand for linguistic equality, on the reflection of revolutionary events in Prague and Vienna, as well as in Hungary, on the issue of freedom of speech and the abolition of censorship, on the proceedings of the Slavic Congress and on other key moments of the revolutionary period.
