Abstract

The study presents the second part of the purification ritual from the shaft tomb of Iufaa at Abusir, covering the northern and a great part of the eastern wall of the burial chamber. It focuses mainly on Spells 8-12, whose main purpose was to protect the deceased from any evil magic and sorcerers who would intend to harm him.

The individual spells are introduced, their content is summarized and the interesting parts concerning the motif of protection from evil magicians are presented in hieroglyphic transcription, transliteration and translation; compared with the parallels, if possible, and commented. The texts are put in the context of the tomb of Iufaa and also the religion and religious texts of the Late Period.
