Abstract
Knápková's Prague anthology is in the tradition of a series of Prague readers since at least the 1960s, and its peculiarity is that it presents only Czech authors. The order of the texts is only based on the publication date; there is therefore no cartographic or chronotopic order.
The reading impression is therefore slightly chaotic, because the publisher allegedly planned it that way. The reader is therefore required to have a certain prior knowledge of Prague, its history and literature.
It is interesting that, in accordance with the cliché for German-language Prague literature, the topos of "mystical Prague" is also strongly represented among Czech authors.
