Abstract
The study deals with the prose of Croatian novelist Janko Polić Kamov. Kamov established himself as one of the leading representatives in the structures of Croatian modernism with his novel "A Dried Mire".
We try to describe the poetological specifics of the novel, indicate the complicated genesis of its creation and suggest possible ways of reading it.
