Abstract
The chapter examines the evolution of the international perception and status of the movie Journey to the Beginning of Time (dir.: Karel Zeman) over the decades - from its initial classification as a popular-scientific film with limited export potential, through its secondary life as a successful attraction that endured in the minds of American boomer generation, to the later appreciation of its artistic merits and its inclusion among the classic works of world animation.
