Abstract
The exhibition "Aphrodite today" is an initiative of the Association of Czech Graphic Artists HOLLAR and the Center for Classical Studies, Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It includes more than fifty works by twenty-two contemporary printmakers and explores the perception of the ancient goddess of love in contemporary Czech art.
Through the multiple approaches to the subject of Aphrodite, the exhibition contributes to the current discussions about the position of women in contemporary society and its reflection in artmaking. The catalogue was published for the exhibition.
