Abstract

Biological treatment marked a revolution in the therapy of a whole range of previously difficult-to-treat diseases. Currently, it is one of the main pillars of modern pharmacotherapy and has become one of the dominant elements of medicine in the 21st century.

Its development is exponential thanks to significant advances in the understanding of the molecular nature of individual diseases. The principle of action of biologicals is a targeted regulatory intervention in the mechanisms of the body's immune system.

Today, biological drugs are used with great success in the treatment of a wide range of autoimmune diseases, in neurology, biological treatment mainly concerns multiple sclerosis and migraine.
