Synthesis and characterization of new compounds with promising non-linear optical properties, Internship report

Abstract

The student of bachelor degree prepared during her one-semetral internship 5 novel salts of N,N-dimethylbiguanide. In her report, she presented the results of structure analysis of the prepared compounds and their characterization via several analytical methods.

Two of the prepared compounds exhibited a noncentrosymmetric crystal structure assembly, easy crystallization and second harmonic frequency generation, which is necessary for their potential application in nonlinear optics.
