Symbiosis: Approaches of Concretists in Current Grahics: 55 years since the foundation of the Concretists Club and 105 years since the foundation of the Association of Czech Graphic Artists Hollar
Abstract
The catalog-monography was prepared for the exhibition, which took place from April to June 2022 in the Municipal Gallery Zázvorka in Nové Město nad Metují. In the introductory article, the author explains the reasons for the exhibition selection.
On the works of 24 authors, the exhibition shows current concretist persistent approaches in graphics. On the one hand, the authors of the Club of Concretists, who work with the medium of print, were invited, and on the other hand, members of the Hollar association, who in turn fit into the intentions of concretism with their work.
The exhibition created a very diverse community of authors - male and female authors ranged in age from 90 to 36 years old and were authors from all over the Czech Republic. The topic of their work was geometry, lettering, textures, networks.
The exhibited works thus showed a great breadth of possible artistic approaches.
