Langmuir probes are one of the most common diagnostic tools of plasma. They are used to determine various plasma parameters which are crucial for correct predictions of plasma behavior.

In certain conditions, there is a need to do very fast measurements and the temporal limit of the probe measurement can be a limiting factor. It can be a study of a rapidly evolving phenomenon or when only limiting time exposure of the probe to plasma is allowed.

Finding the limit of the probe dynamics requires information from probe surroundings on the microscopic level and computational methods are well suited for this task. The simulated time evolution of current, potential around the probe, and size of the probe sheath are used to obtain the characteristic times of the plasma stabilization after potential changes on the probe.
