The review study reflects the issue of unclear concepts of Specific Language Impairment in the Czech environment, in which the literature repeatedly draws attention to the absence of uniform diagnostic criteria and a psychometric tool for identifying the disorder. We still lack research that would focus on diagnostic markers of Specific Language Impairment for the Czech language environment, from which it is possible to derive these diagnostic criteria, and we also lack a current standardized psychometric tool for evaluation the level of language skills in children in general.
To diagnose problems in language development, Czech experts can use especially clinical methods that do not allow a good enough insight into the cognitive background of these problems.
