Abstract
In the civil proceedings, success in a lawsuit often depends on a particular document. The authenticity of such document or an attached signature may therefore heavily influence the outcome of the dispute.
The questions who - and under what circumstances - bears the burden of proof of the authenticity or falsity of the document or signature are quite complicated.
