The introductory text to the collection of studies by Olga Fejtová first characterizes the key of the selection of studies in the whole of the researcher's work and then summarizes the main contribution of the edited texts to the research on the history of Prague, especially the New Town of Prague. Thanks to Fejtová's research, it has been definitively freed from the reputation of a better suburb.
It turns out that it was the largest Czech city of the early modern period, and at that time an urban space with an exceptionally high number of palaces, comparable only to the Old Town of Prague.
