Abstract

The disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is a constant subject of interest in research and clinical medicine. The attention is focused not only on the acute course of this disease but also on chronic conditions.

In children, acute infection is very often asymptomatic or only with a very mild clinical picture. Nevertheless, in the long term horizon, two significant long-term consequences of the infection appear.

This is a multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), sometimes also referred to as pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporally associated with SARS-CoV-2 (PIMS-TS), and about the so-called long COVID, which we would they could freely translate as long-term or chronic COVID.
