Abstract
Determining of working lenght is integral part of root canal treatment. If we determine working lenght unprecisely it's followed by underpreparation or overpreparation of root canal system.
Both lead to lower success rate of endodontic treatment. Very helpful device to determine working lenght correctly are electronic apex locators.
It's reviewed the historical evolution, physical principles and factors which are involved during determining of working lenght and as well other possibilities of usage of electronic apex locators
