The so-called compound belt of the Moravian type (Fig.), consisting of 15.000 to 30.000 subtile bronze rings, is a typically Moravian phenomenon representing an important part of the clothing or costume of highly socially positioned women of the Hallstatt Period the so-called compound belt adies, or female magnates. They are often fitted with large metal belt buckles and various and rich bronze decorations and pendants, or with woven amber, glass beads, seashells, spin whorls and leather pocket.
