The lecture analyzed Karvaš's views on the market and its changes. Already at the beginning of the 1930s, Imrich Karvaš drew attention to the changed view of the market and the role of the state in the economy, when the active state as an economic entity comes to the fore.
Under the impression of the economic crisis of the 1930s, he proposed regulatory interventions by the state in Slovakia's regional policy and support for the Slovak economy. In more detail, the contribution will be devoted to Karvaš's work "The influence of cartels on the economy" from 1932, where he examined the essence of cartels and how cartels and other business associations influence the development of the economy.
