Abstract
The modernly prepared book includes the most common acute conditions that a doctor (not only internal medicine) may encounter at the patient's bedside, in the outpatient clinic or in the admissions department of a hospital.
It briefly recapitulates the etiology, clinic, and diagnosis of common acute conditions, presents detailed initial treatment procedures, and outlines follow-up therapy.
The book was originally created at the Internal Clinic of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of the UK and the FN Motol as a teaching text for young doctors. By supplementing the text, a publication was created that will be appreciated not only by beginning doctors, but also by more experienced ones for quick orientation in the issue.
Last but not least, the book can be a helper when studying medicine or preparing for certification exams.
