"We Let Go German Democrats, Then Jewish Immigrants from the Sudetenland, Now Our Domestic Jews - and Finally It Might Be Our Turn." The Debate about Baptism of Jews out of Survival in the Evangelical Church of the Czech Brethren 1938-1942

Abstract

In the context of the increasing persecution from October 1938 onwards many Jews in Czechoslovakia requested a Christian baptism. This study analyses how the Evangelical Church of the Czech Brethren dealt with this on a local as well as leadership level.
