Abstrakt
The essay, dealing with selected ancient philosophical ideas related to education, is written in response to question on the value of philosophy of education for contemporary state of education.
The main task of this essay is to introduce the topic of Greek educational philosophy to teacher (of Civics) and open him unique horizon of ancient thought. Firstly, the essay introduces general questions of philosophy of education. Secondly, the author deals with several topics taken from ancient Greek thought to find between them an inspiration for contemporary education. Thirdly, the text shows ways for teachers to improve their teaching skills by means of philosophy.
