Abstract
This article will focus on the prohibition of discrimination under the Czech Consumer Protection Act and examples of the use of the prohibition of discrimination to sanction businesses under the Act. It first discusses the concept of discrimination in general terms, then looks at the specifics of discrimination under the Consumer Protection Act and the case law that has developed under the Act.
It then pays particular attention to discrimination against foreigners (the well-known case of discrimination against Russians in the Brioni Hotel) and discrimination on the grounds of age (the non-admission of children to certain restaurants and spas).
