Abstract

Treatment of the diabetic foot (DF) should be comprehensive and should require the multidisciplinary cooperation. This article focuses only on the part of the DF therapy, specifically on the topical treatment that we usually use in acute or chronic wounds, in our case in the DF ulcers.

In addition to various forms of wounds debridements, we can use a variety of antiseptics and modern dressings in topical therapy that work on the principle of moist therapy. Therapeutic agents working on the bases of modern technologies promise a potential in the healing of these types of wounds.
