Abstract

The diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) is one of late complications of diabetes mellitus, and its treatment demands a multidisciplinary approach. The treatment of DFS targets two basic areas - a therapeutic effect of both systemic and local factors that influence the healing of DFS.

Some of those factors may be influenced by a patient himself, others must be controlled in cooperation with a physician.
