Publication at Central Library of Charles University |
2011

Abstract

Podiatry is a science dealing with the study of the foot, its anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, correct treatment of sick feet and preventive treatment of sick feet. The main domain of the field is diabetic foot syndrome.

The publication Practical podiatry introduces readers to the basics of the field, but it is primarily a manual for everyday practice. The book is intended for nurses who treat patients with a diabetic foot, or specialize in podiatry, as well as doctors, especially diabetologists, internists and surgeons.

The starting point for it are the recommendations of the International Federation for the Study of Diabetes for the basic education of podiatrists.
