Urinary incontinence in everyday practice

Abstract

The book is primarily intended for first-line doctors - general practitioners, internists and gynecologists who encounter incontinent patients in their daily practice. It should be a guide to active search, a tool for basic diagnosis and treatment.

Approximately 7 percent of the population suffers from incontinence, so it's no wonder that frontline doctors meet affected people almost every day. At the same time, many patients do not admit to the problem and it takes a long time before they start treatment.

Care is financially very demanding both for the patient and for the treating medical facilities and especially for the entire health system. This is also why it is necessary to rationalize and streamline the process of care for incontinent patients as much as possible.
