Abstract
The publication is based on detailed historical calendars of significant events related to television broadcasting in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic since 1953. It is divided into four large chapters with contextual introductions: development of the institution, development of technology, development of the program and international awards.
It also contains profiles of important television actors, presenters, directors, cameramen and journalists who were awarded in the so-called Hall of Fame. There are also rich charts of the development of concessionaires and the changing organizational structures of the Czechoslovak and Czech Television institutions, as well as recommendations for other specialist literature, a name index and a program index.
The publication can serve as a proven and relevant resource for all future researchers and students of media studies, journalism and the history of media or technology.
