Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease associated with high expression of proinflammatory cytokines. Patients often suffer from psoriatic arthritis.
Acne is a frequent multifactorial inflammatory skin disease of adolescents, in which, according to new findings, the immune system plays a key role. We present the case of a patient in whom a flare-up of psoriasis was accompanied by a severe course of acne followed by sacroiliitis.
Treatment with adalimumab resulted in remission in all three modalities and the condition persists after 56 months of treatment.
