Abstract
The publication summarizes knowledge and experience acquired in the course of teaching Czech as a foreign language. It inquires into the concept of grammar, deals with various kind of grammatical descriptions of natural language and refers to specific features and contribution of didactic grammar.
In addition, it goes into the issues of the acquisition of a language code and the role of grammar within the methods of teaching foreign languages. It pays heed to the principles of the selection and arrangement of the grammatical subject matters of the curriculum, the explanation of so-called non-parallel grammatical categories and phenomena, as well as opinions on the difficulties of certain parts of Czech grammar.
Particulary it offers the accesible explication of more complicated parts of grammar (word-order, primary prepositions, verbal aspect, etc.).
