Abstract
Developmental defects of the central nervous system system are congenital structural lesions arising in utero. They include a large and growing number of complex developmental brain disorders, spinal cord and skull. It conditions them early disturbed formation and maturation of neural structures. Their the spectrum ranges from subtle, clinical from insignificant anomalies to severe and lethal malformations. They are often diagnosed as early as routine prenatal ultrasound. Types include ventriculomegaly, neural tube defects, midline and posterior fossa abnormalities, neuronal and intracranial migration disorders neoplasm and cysts. They have an incidence of 14 per 10,000.
At the same time, neural tube closure defects are the most common, with a prevalence of 52 per 100,000.
