Trust in Text and its Meaning: Umberto Eco and George Steiner as Two Answers to Hermeneutics of Suspicion

Abstract

Article examines how in the 1990s Eco and Steiner, dealt with the postulates of the hermeneutics of suspicion and makes a theological assessment of this philosophical movement with regard to the possibility of the meaning of the text.
