Abstract
Based on qualitative and quantitative criteria, the chapter compares the sociolinguistic status of the different languages spoken in contemporary Spain, i.e. in particular Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Basque, Aragonese and Asturian. It takes into account all relevant factors and offers a brief prediction of the future of these languages.
