Collective Memory in the Bible and Christianity. From Theoretical Issues to Practical Applications

Publication at Protestant Theological Faculty |
2023

Abstract

The book presents a productive use of the impulses arising from various forms of collective memory theory in biblical studies while engaging in a critical conversation with them. In thirteen chapters, it addresses theoretical issues in the field of philosophy as well as various attempts at application to biblical texts, the history of Israel, and early Christianity.

In doing so, it provides a glimpse of the potential contribution of collective memory theory to biblical studies, as well as its problematic areas and limits.
