Abstract
In 1992, political representations agreed on the division of Czechoslovakia without involving the public. Since 1993, Czech and Slovak politics have gone their separate ways.
The aim of this article is to present and to compare politics' development of both countries and key moments that have accompanied it until present. In general, the development was similar, but we can see differences in details and in the degree of diverse political phenomena.
