Poster created for presentation during the Doctoral Student Forum at 30th EAS Conference and 9th ISME European Regional Conference which took place in Lyon University from 22nd to 27th of May 2023. The task for the poster was to provide an overview over my research question, methods and results. I presented my Ph.D. project and research in eight blocks: Introduction, Motivation, Discussion, Internship,Workshops,Methods and Materials,Interim Results, Conclusion.

During the INTRODUCTION, I presented my brief biography and the path that led to my Ph.D. project. I used a photograph of myself with tapes on the day of my graduation concert as my main MOTIVATION and outlined the need for a method of prevention (and problem-solving method) that would view the musical performer as a bio-psycho-social whole. For the DISCUSSION column, I created a mind map with concepts that music performance and yoga have in common and highlighted three - Creativity, Equity, and Liberty - that were the theme of this year's EAS conference. In the next session, I briefly summarized the content of my three-week INTERNSHIP in Lisbon in 2022, where I worked with a yoga teacher for musicians and recorded 7 semi-structured interviews with them as part of my qualitative research into the impact of yoga on the body, mind, and emotions. Another important part of my project is the Yoga for Musicians WORKSHOPS held at the Prague Conservatory and the Summer Piano Courses in Blatná. These workshops served as a pre-exploration of the needs of music students, introducing them to my method and, based on their feedback during the workshop, verifying whether and how the method is beneficial for them. The workshops also became a venue to recruit piano student volunteers for my 4 - month's QUALITATIVE RESEARCH (Effects of Yoga as a Prevention and Solution of Health Problems of Piano Students). I describe this research and its METHODS and interim results in the following two poster blocks. The GRAPH below (Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory; K-MPAI, 2009) shows the values of 8 factors affecting MPA at the beginning and after the research and shows how yoga practice affected these factors. For the INTERIM RESULTS, I also present the main hypotheses I am working with and cite statements from research participants that support them. In CONCLUSION, it is highlighted that much of the research is based on the subjective statements of the research participants, it is also noted that there is a lack of prevention in music education and that this project offers a large social impact.
