Abstract

Sleep is especially important because it contributes to overall mental and physical well-being. While some aspects of sleep, such as its duration and impact on well-being, are well documented, the issue of sleep patterns remains neglected.

Students are a population that is particularly prone to stress, psychological problems and also poor sleep quality, in addition to struggling with irregular daily schedules. Therefore, it is important to address the protective power of sleep in research. This paper will present unique results of a mediation analysis of the impact of sleep, specifically sleep quality and sleep patterns, on life satisfaction when exposed to selected stressors among 2,488 Czech university students from the covid-19 pandemic of late spring 2021.
