Special and Inclusive Education Policy and Practice in Kenya, 1963 to 2016: The Journey.
The advent of the idea of inclusive education as marked by the Salamanca Conference started an evolution in educational provision especially for those who were previously segregated within education. However, countries embraced different routes to achieve their ideal inclusion in education. This depended on their histories, experiences, cultures, as well as prevailing policy and legislation. This chapter outlines the progress of Kenya towards Inclusive Education.
