Abstract
The authors prepared the first edition of this publication from the Intensive Care Medicine Edition in 2004 and during that time the book has gained the position of a basic educational source for a wide population of physicians of all disciplines who are concerned with the issue of artificial lung ventilation, as one of the most widespread procedures of organ support,The fifth edition of the Basics of Artificial Lung Ventilation reflects the development of knowledge in all areas of artificial lung ventilation and allows the reader to be "up to date". At the same time, however, the book retains its main value - to be a clear and educationally extremely compact reference source.
