Abstract
The present contribution is dealing with our encounters with Professor Alexander Brostl. In late I980's, we both were studying Chinese law - he in Shanghai and me in Beijing.
Afterwards, Alexander Brostl accepted a position in Slovak diplomatic service in Beijing and / myself headed to Czech diplomatic service in Brussels. We met after 25 years in academic field - he as a Professor of Pavel Josef Safarik University in Kosice and me as a Professor of Charles University in Prague.
Our scientific exchange was concerning various aspects of Chinese law: main principles, political mechanism or legal transplants.
